Happy Friday everyone! We hope you’re able to make the most of the sunny weather we’re getting today. Here are some covid-19 updates we thought to shine some light on this week.
UK arrivals self-isolation
From 8th June, arrivals coming into the UK will need to fill out an online form before entering the UK and go into self-isolation for 14 days. Home secretary Priti Patel has stated the UK borders will not be closing and we will still be allowing international arrivals. Fines will be enforced for those who are not complying with rules imposed on travel.
‘R’ rate decline
The ‘R’ number (Infection rate) in the UK has been reported to be on the decline. This has come after the slight decline in number of deaths from covid-19 in the past week.
IKEA Reopening
The furniture chain is set to reopen 19 stores nationwide from June 1st. Details can be found here on the locations that will reopen.
Aside from covid-19, Muslims worldwide are set to celebrate Eid-al-fitr on Sunday 24th May. The team would like to wish our Muslim followers a happy and blessed Eid Mubarak! Make the most of this weekend with loved ones at home and as always, please stay safe.
