Happy Friday everyone! We hope you’re able to make the most of the sunny weather we’re getting today. Here are some covid-19 and security updates we thought to shine some light on this week.
Congestion charge increase
From Monday, the congestion charge for driving into central London will be reinstated following a deal made with TFL and emergency funding provided for bus and tube services. From 22 June, the price of the congestion charge is set to increase from £11.50 to £15.
Care homes to be tested in June
Health secretary Matt Hancock has announced the all residents and employees in care homes in England will be required to be tested by June. This has been in response to the number of cases and death rates which are being found within care home settings.
R rate gone up
The ‘R’ number (Infection rate) in the UK has been reported to now be in between 0.7 and 1.0. For a prevention of virus spread, the rate needs to be kept below 1.0.
Securitas and Covid-19
Securitas, the multi-national security contractor is facing uncertainty amidst of the coronavirus pandemic. 370,000 employees worldwide are currently on a temporary unemployment schemes, the company has also seen a decline in other areas of work in Europe which includes events and security installations.
