Another week in lockdown has passed! We hope you have all had a productive week and have been able to absorb some sun rays with the hot weather we’re getting. Here’s the weekly update.
Virus test now available
Key workers can now book a coronavirus test online through GOV UK or can be referred through their employer. The Government aims to run 100,000 tests a day in the UK by the end of the month.
Annual Fees for security contractors during Covid-19
SIA approved contractors will have received the news about changes made to the Licence Dispensation Notices (LDN) which can be issued for those who have applications which have been paid for and are in the next steps stage. Approved contractors with upcoming payments due to be paid in the next 21 days have been given a 3-month extension. Any approved contractors who would like to have this are required to contact SIA using their business account.
Buses for free
The ‘Middle-door only’ policy on buses came into effect earlier this week in London to help minimise contact between passengers. The policy allows members of the public to use buses for free. This will continue to help maintain social distancing measures.
Ramadan and Covid-19
Today marks the start of the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims around the world. We are aware fasting this year will be impacted by lockdown measures meaning local community spaces and mosques will be closed. We also know there are key workers who will be fasting on shifts. Advice and guidance for those who are still working and partaking in fasting can be found here.
As always, we hope you are keeping safe during Covid-19 lockdown. Only go out if necessary and those who are still working, please stay hydrated and take precautions during this hot weather. To all our readers who are fasting today Ramadan Kareem and we hope this month is productive and fulfilled for you all.
