Coronavirus UK record
The UK has officially become the second country to report more than 40,000 deaths from coronavirus. This comes after reports released from care homes and hospitals the past month have show a large number of patients being tested positive.
Weekend protests
Since the tragic murder of George Floyd that took place last week. A series of protests have taken place in London. On Saturday 6th June at 1pm, there will be a demonstration taking place in Parliament Square and on Sunday 7th June, there will be a protest in front of the US Embassy at 2pm. For those wishing to attend please ensure safety and social distancing measures by wearing gloves and avoiding tight spacing.
Public transport and back to work settings
Many people this month will be heading back to work settings and will be resuming their daily commute. Please be aware of measures taking place on public transport which include wearing masks upon transport entrance. Please take precautions when entering public transport. Some stations will distribute free masks to passengers, further information will be released on Monday on tfl.gov.uk.
Travel destinations open up their borders
From July, some travel destinations will be open to UK nationals. Depending on the country, some may require you to quarantine or provide sufficient reasoning and documents which explain your arrival to the country. There are some destinations such as Greece who are not allowing any UK nationals to enter. You are able to see where you can travel here.
As this month sees many of us returning to our normal routines, we advise you to still take precautions and travel if essential. Please keep up social distancing measures to ensure the R rate stays at the optimum level.
