Course Description

Be it you’re a stand alone or a security company we can accommodate you at our new offices and training centre which is based in High Wycombe very close to the Train station. Or we can train at your establishment in the UK or abroad.

The qualification comprises 3 mandatory units: 
Unit 1 - Working in the Private Security Industry
Unit 2 - Working as a Security Officer
Unit 3 - Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry 

This qualification can enable the learner to progress onto the NVQ in Providing Security Services or undertake further learning in other areas of the private security industry such as CCTV Operations or Door Supervision.

Course Content

Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Sector Industry

(12 hours Guided learning of which all must be contact time)
- Understanding the role and objectives of a door supervisor
- Understanding civil and criminal law relevant to a door supervisor
- Understanding searching relevant to a door supervisor
- Understanding powers of arrest relevant to a door supervisor
- Understanding drug-misuse issues and procedures relevant to the role of a door supervisor
- Understanding incident recording and crime scene preservation relevant to the role of a door supervisor
- Understanding licensing law and social responsibility relevant to the role of a door supervisor
- Understanding emergency procedures which should be followed by a door supervisor
- Understanding how a door supervisor can help to keep vulnerable people safe
- Understanding queue management and venue capacity responsibilities relevant to a door supervisor

Unit 2 - Working as a Security Officer

2.1 40-question multiple-choice examination paper.
2.2 Successful candidates must achieve a score of at least 28 out of 40
2.3 Examination duration – 1 hour
2.4 Guided learning hours for this unit are 8 hours.

Unit 3 - Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry

3.1 25-question multiple-choice examination paper.
3.2 Successful candidates must achieve a score of at least 18 out of 25
3.3 Examination duration – 40 minutes
3.4 Guided learning hours for this unit are 8 hours.
